About ISSLC

Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer

Advancing thoracic oncology through research, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration since 2005.

Our Story

The Indian Society for Study of Lung Cancer (ISSLC) was established in 2005 with a vision to create a unified platform for healthcare professionals dedicated to combating lung cancer in India. Recognizing the growing burden of thoracic malignancies, a group of visionary oncologists, pulmonologists, and thoracic surgeons came together to form this premier academic society.

Over the past two decades, ISSLC has grown into a vibrant community of over 2,100 members, including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and basic scientists. The society has been instrumental in shaping lung cancer care in India through evidence-based guidelines, collaborative research, and continuous medical education.

Today, ISSLC stands at the forefront of thoracic oncology in South Asia, driving innovation in early detection, precision medicine, and immunotherapy, while fostering international collaborations to bring global best practices to Indian patients.
